Have to say, I am so happy to get this pinup from Cadence Comic Art. It has been a long time coming for some original art from Zoe Thorogood. I have been following Zoe since �The Impending Blindness of Billie Scott�, a fantastic book that you need to grab if you haven't already. She has a unique character design and signature style, and I truly believe that the best is yet to come. Zoe regularly posts her work on Twitter and Instagram, and some of that art has a darker tone that I absolutely love.

This is her character Lottie from the in progress graphic novel �I THINK I MIGHT BE EVIL�. The character design for Lottie alone is great, and the towering creature behind her, which I assume is a manifestation of her pet, checks all the boxes for fantastic monster/creature design. Check out those teeth! When you see this in person with your own eyeholes, the line work and detail on Lottie is outstanding. Just don't stare too long at the monster behind her or you will become hypnotized. The difference between these characters also adds a nice contrast to the piece.

If you are unfamiliar with Zoe Thorogood it is time to get on board. She has also illustrated Image's HAHA #2 and has done a number of variant covers. Her first series �Rain� is due out in January and is the debut Syzygy Publishing release via Image Comics. It is an adaptation of Joe Hill's novella which was collected in �Strange Weather�, and will definitely be a series worth checking out.

I love Lottie's design, nice line work. Kind of reminds me of Hermione Granger, I think because of what she's wearing underneath her coat, like a private school outfit. Very nice!

I'd bet she's a big Edward Gorey fan. I totally get that vibe from her style. I always dig the Abstract but Realistic comic artists. I'm gonna check her work out, thanks for sharing. Congrats!
