DescriptionThis is Tom Reilly's cover art for The Thing issue 3 featuring Bobby Spector, Ben Grimm and Amaryllis Dejure. This 6 issue arc tugged at my fanboy heartstrings from Walter Mosley's fun filled story to Reilly's action packed artwork! This 6 issue story made me a fan of both creators and a bigger fan of The Thing.Reilly delivered some fantastic covers for each of the six issues but this might be my favorite with the main cast all there with a cinematic feel and nod to Grimm's creator, Jack Kirby on his trunks. It's too bad they changed the name for the final published cover. Social/Sharing |

I love this because it reminds me immediately of the classic Marvel Two-in-One Annual in which Ben had to box with The Champion. Great stuff!

Wonderful cover! Great perspective and that bend of the ropes is just perfect. You're in the champ's corner for this beauty!

THING: I coulda been a contenda. (Sigh)
Fabulous cover for The Thing #3, in which the Thing battles the Champion of the Universe one more time. Only this time, it's not to win a belt or a title, this time it's life or death. Great cover from Tom Reilly. Marvelous pick-up, congrats!

Ben's going the Distance
He's going for Speed
He's not alone, in his time of need.
Because he's bobbing and weaving and plotting his course
He's fighting and biting and bringing the force
He's going the distance!

Sweet cover George! Kirby on the trunks in the art is so cool even though they changed it for publishing, to have it on the art is awesome

Agree, great cover from a great series! Throwback feel while still also feeling fresh. And I think it's cool you got a difference between the words on the best...makes for a nice story! Congrats, man!
