DescriptionCast & CrewElektra - Nathan Fox Spiderman - David LaFuente Captain America - Matteo Scalera Daredevil - Roberto De La Torre Thor - Tommy Lee Edwards Wolverine - Mike Perkins Iron Fist - Brent Peeples Color - Ben Sawyer The Story: This is my first attempt at a jam piece and I couldn't be happier. I've seen some amazing jam's here on CAF and decided to go for one myself at this year's NC Comic Con. I started with a Daredevil pin-up I received from Marvel and DD artist, Roberto De la Torre back in 2009. I picked a few of my favorite characters and found some pose ideas online and was lucky enough to get Image Comics artist, Brent Peeples to do the layout and draw the Iron Fist on day one of the NC Comic, 11/5/2011. I had chatted some before the convention with some other artists and was able to catch Marvel and Image artist, Tommy Lee Edwards. Tommy chose to draw the Thor and I LOVE his take on the character. With a little help from Tommy I was able to get Marvel (Ultimate Spiderman) artist, David Lafuente on board to do the Spiderman! But David was super busy with panels and judging the costume contest so I ran to my next stop to get Marvel artist, Mike Perkins to do the Logan/Wolverine piece while David was bouncing around to his other commitments. Mike was a pleasure to talk with and delivered a GREAT Wolverine! We were winding down into the final hour and I was parked at David Lafuente's table to make sure I was first in line to get the spidey done. David arrived a little beat from bouncing around the convention and to a long line of patient fans. David was a great sport and delivered a lively spidey. This meant a lot as this was Lafuente's only convention appearance in the US in 2011. I couldn't be happier and can't wait to see where this JAM goes. I hope to get the Captain America and Elektra done at one of the conventions in 2012. Wish me luck! *UPDATE (June 2012)* I was able to complete this jam at the 2012 Heroes Con in Charlotte, NC. This convention always impresses and is truly a blast. I was lucky enough to get Nathan Fox to complete Elektra! I've been a fan of Nathan's style, palette and big feel in his work. Also big thanks to the rock'n Matteo Scalera for finishing this piece off with a bang by adding the Captain America. I feel Matteo's inks balance with TLE's Thor inks nicely. It's been a fun experience putting this jam together even though I was probably running back and forth to artists like a crazy person at times. Big thanks to all the art reps I worked with and the artists again for their time and creativity put into this piece. It already holds a lot of great memories and is something I will hold near and dear. *UPDATE (October 2012) It has been completed! I really got to get me a jam piece! This rocks! Although I don't think I have the patience it takes to wait in line for these artists........
