Description21st new artist add to the collection in 2024 in Alessandro Vitti! I picked this up directly from Alessandro at Rose City Comic Con a couple months ago. Was stoked that he had it with him as this just might be my favorite page from the 2021 Taskmaster miniseries he drew.No panel gutters, just lines separating the 9 equally sized panels, showcasing this fight between Taskmaster and Black Widow. I like panels 4 and 5 the most and how zoomed out the former is then how zoomed in the latter is for Natasha’s elbow. Overall, it’s awesome to have 9 different battle shots in one page, but it’s also what’s going on story-wise that made me love this page. See the additional published image. Natasha’s no easy out to say the least, and as a result, Taskmaster is having to change up other character fighting styles to keep pace! How fun is that?! Hope y’all like! Social/Sharing |

West Side
Comin' from the West Side
Portland on the West Side
Ain't nothin' goin on, but the bombast art con
Hittin' all night long
Just like me on the black and white by Vitti
Gettin' this at Rose City you don't have to spend a G
Break yo' Task like dishes
Master class tricks keeps it delicious
Runnin' from Batroc off her balance
They want to have me in fights, like written in premise
But that ain't poppin', Widow rockin'
Fo' hoppin, Task droppin', shoot to kill
My ruthless spills, fool I got skills
So, back on up 'fore I check that chin
Down as fuck and Iron Fist all in
You gets Rose tough and I thought you knew it
Fool, you know now she do it
Comin' from the West Side
West Side, Portland on the West Side

YES. You done took me BACK my friend!
Haven't been on CAF much at all the last few weeks due to crazy work time but I of course sang ths one out loud, in unison, with the original JAM.
More than a couple times.
And right away with this "just like me on the black and white by Vitti" line, ha! Cube with a Wai spin. Or is it vice versa?!
Thanks, man, and all, for the comments!

Love the fight choreography here! Vitti does a really good job making the reader "feel" each blow. And yes, it's very cool to see Taskmaster having to switch up his style to deal with Natasha. Killer page, congrats! I need to check out this mini-series.

Cool page, makes me want to pick up the series to see how it turns out. I like that the dialog is not taking up space on the page so we see all the action.

I know people love splash pages, but for me, it's 9 panel grid or even 12 panel grid fight scenes that really bring out my appreciation. This one is fantastic!

I hear ya, man! Now I do like my splashes and pin ups BUT great battle pages are right up there. Artists really get to do their thing in terms of illustration AND storytelling when it comes to these scenes. Thanks for the add!

Really nice page. Great use of the 9 panels to choreograph the fight between Widow and Taskmaster.

I actually prefer space between panels so everything doesn't look and feel "forced in together". But that aside, you got yourself a nice, 9-panel page of sequential action! Plus, the antagonist has a skull for a face, so that makes it fantastic all on its own. Congrats, Kahlil!

Traditional 9 panel layout brings up close hand to hand combat and it hits hard. Center bow throw for the win!

Superb battle sequence! No words needed when the art talks by its own! So good!

How did I miss this post? Fantastic action sequence. The pacing is made more manic by the sheer volume of images. It's like a fully finished movie story board. Congrats!

Well you may have initially missed but you eventually made, so all good :)
But yeah, you can just see this fight choreography in a flick, right?! Well, we did get an MCU BW vs Taskmaster, lol, I almost forgot!
Thanks, P!

That's a nice looking skull on Taskmaster. It's giving Mignola and Miller combined.
