Love it! Jack was at the top of his game inking here-it's just awesome what he could do-and yet you can also see the Kurtzman layout too-they worked so well together in this period

While he saved most of his cartoony style for magazines like MAD and Cracked, it's still fun to see a tiny bit of it spill over into his work in other genres. Great title splash with some gorgeous inking.

This is no less than artistic brilliance. Imagine the kid who bought this comic with his allowance and rolled it up in his back pocket while he walked home from the newstand. He loved those stories, probably oblivious to the mastery of art and writing that went into them. Now, with the benefit of time, we can see that was no fluke, nor was it borne of childish tastes. Art that stands the test of time.
