Description

Do you believe in love at first sight? I wasn't sure 'til I saw this! This incredible intro splash explodes off the page with dynamic pencils and note the intuitive wash elements! It starts off a trio of tales about the ape-man in Pellucidar, written and drawn by the incredible Thomas Yeats.

Part of the first graduating class from The Kubert School, Yeates demonstrates a special affinity with the character and his environment. Here you are, soaring with Tarzan through the canopy and then a relaxing and enjoying the scenery. A typical day for the ape-man!

Yeates brings out the beauty of the piece with wonderous images complimented by the duo tone board. A great honor for Yeates to work on Tarzan as he upholds the tradition of great illustrators and comics artists including Joe Kubert.

The illustration on this page is superb, but it is the wonderful layout making it even more special. The panels and lettering work perfectly together. Just an exceptional piece.
