Description

Just over the Moon for my first Jeff Jones piece! A pencil, ink, and watercolor sketch measuring 11" x 14"...and of Tarzan!

It seems to me it fits into the original Burroughs, "Tarzan of the Apes" novel. In Chapter 13, we find this,

�The young Lord Greystoke was indeed a strange and war-like figure, his mass of black hair falling to his shoulders behind and cut with his hunting knife to a rude bang upon his forehead, that it might not fall before his eyes.�

Seems to fit pretty well for me!

As someone still on the hunt for his first Jones, I am all kinds of jealous. Congratulations on this wonderful example. I hope it serves as a sign of good luck for me and my search.

So much interesting aspects you can glean from the drawing. From the stance, the hair style, to the surface colors, and beyond, this is a well thought out and carried out drawing by Jones.
