Description

I like pretty much everything Tyler Jenkins and Matt Klindt do, and Black Badge is my favorite series of theirs to date. I'm not usually into covers as much as ineriors, but I love this painted 1:15 chase variant cover by Tyler, which features all four team members and a superb conifer. This is my favorite piece by Tyler (so far).

Interestingly, I believe this is the only Black Badge OA colored by Tyler rather than his wife Hilary, and it is one of the few pieces colored on the same board as the line art. Tyler experiments a lot, and it looks to me as though he went opaque with the paint in much of the tree trunk, but then went transparent in other spots to let the ink lines come through. I used a closeup for the main gallery image; below is the full cover image.

I think Tyler's art doesn't get the recognition it deserves, and frankly, he's had a couple projects fall through in recent times so he set up a GoFundMe page to carry him through a rough patch. If you're so inclined, check it out:
