DescriptionBeginning with issue 153 of Strange Tales, Marie Severin was handed the artwork chores for Dr. Strange. The good doctor shared the book with Nick Fury, and the previous artist was Bill Everett, who had to follow Dr. Strange’s creator Steve Ditko. So, it was pretty daunting task. Marie handled the art through issue 160. I think she did a wonderful job, and she continued to pencil and ink many stories for a lot of different titles after that, but Stan never really gave her the ownership of a major (or minor) book for any extended period of time ever again.

Fabulous splash and marvelous story! I love Marie Severin's work! She was incredibly talented and it's a shame she wasn't given the opportunities others were given. But her work still holds up and shows her phenomenal talent! Great pick-up!

Ron, a breathtaking and historic Marie Severin complete story. Bravo. I always say the pinnacle of collecting is the pleasure of owning a complete story. And knowing it will stay intact in your hands adds to the pleasure.

Marvel masterpiece! This serves as the cover as the book was split between Fury and Strange and the issue was Fury's turn to shine. Mystical in how it still affects the child within us.

Wow, what an incredible acquisition--classic Marvel magic, from the most accomplished period that Marie had as an artist (in my opinion). Ditko is an impossible act to follow but Doc actually had some truly excellent (if short-lived) follow-up runs by Bill Everett and Marie. Congrats!

"The Mindless Ones" Silver Age Mastery or Commentary on present day collecting trends? It's for YOU TO DECIDE TRUE BELIEVERS.
This piece, however, is pure GOLD...no matter what era it's from. Marie Severin bringing the GOODS and The Ron knowing to bring it home.
