DescriptionPublished 1981The Return of the Starfish Conquerer! Written by Gerry Conway Dinah battles in vain against Starro. I picked this up because I really love the action even though Dinah loses in the end. And panel with the startled Dinah is particularly lovely. Social/Sharing |

Wonderfully drawn heroine-in-peril page, with a terrifying "Invasion of The Body Snatchers" vibe.

The figure in the 2nd panel is sweet and the closeup on panel 3, as you mention yourself, is tops! But I really love the appearance of the JLAers in panel 4, already assimilated by Starro. Great page indeed!

Yeah yeah!
Don't look now, but here come the eightees!
I was so cool back in sixty-five
The Silver Age 'cause I understood what to do to survive
I had my art, and I made the League
Didn't give a damn on Black Canary scream
They can go to hell
My friend R. Buckler thought about the world
Starfish realities
The promised Frank was ours
We used the great karate
I'm so confused Dinah things I read, I need the truth
But the truth is, I don't know who to be League
Starfish say yes, and the mind says no
I'm in between and the more I learn
Well, the less of Starro
I got to make a show
Livin' high, living fine
Livin' high on Starro's time

I hate these aliens, they're so scary! Luckily, I can't see them! Something's covering my eyes but I can't quite figure out what it is!

Thank goodness. It's so much easier to leave all the thinking to a centralized authority.
