DescriptionApparently, I like Galactus. The big guy has been on my mind a lot recently and the art coming in is reflecting that.Probably reflects my feeling that perhaps this messed up planet needs a Galactus visit to help shake things up and reset the narrative. Here is a piece a purchased in October of last year, practically sight unseen. The thumbnail alone immediately captured my attention. Thanks to Metropolis for bringing Simone's work to the US in a gallery show format. I wasn't able to attend the show itself but it must have been quite the exhibit. Thanks also to Micah for an extremely smooth transaction, and for taking such good care of the piece and getting it to me as soon as the exhibit came down. If you know my collection you know I'm a sucker for graphic design, and this image of Galactus staring at us through the void - far too large for us to ever imagine in his entirety, a glimpse is all we can comprehend before losing our minds completely - is a very welcome new addition. The design here is so strong, totally agree. Masterful use of color here which is to be expected from Bianchi but I think my favorite part is actually his expression! Great pick-up ML. I'm loving this Galactus lane you're in.

Damnit ML save some cool art for the rest of us! The stark composition and line quality makes this really shine. Amazing pick up, congrats!

Beautiful painting. Always love seeing a nice Galactus piece pop up.

Wonderfully done! The fact that it's a partial headshot with no background puts all attention on the ominous, cold expression on Galactus' face.

GLORIOUS piece, my dude! He does such a good job with the straight line design elements of the helmet here. I've always thought that for a guy who's more of a classic painter, Simone is really strong with drawing tech. I had the opportunity to chat with him about that and he said it's something he really focussed on when he was starting out and still takes pride in today. Your piece (even with the limited "tech" on display) clearly highlights that strength. Many, many congrats, friend. I really love this piece.

Thanks E! When you see this piece in person that technical precision is ever more apparent - there are some straight lines that are practically grooved into the paper.

Love the goth Galactus. The rendering is off the charts and make the whole character feel super charged. Huge Congrats!

Great pick up. I saw this in their preview and inquired on it, but looks like you beat me to it. Congrats.

I bet the scan doesn't even do it justice. It's probably a marvel to behold in person. I like how he repeated the purple in the lips and some of the watery watercolor effects on the metal surfaces. Lovely piece, congrats!

With apologies to Prince and Marcus Wai...
Uh
You don't have to be Earth
To turn me on
I just need your planet, baby
From dusk 'til dawn
You don't need sentience
To turn me out
You just leave it all up to ol’ Galactus
I'll show you what the powers cosmic are all about
You don't have to be silver
To be my herald
I have travelled far
Since my union with Galan Taa
Ain't no particular sign
My abstract non-corporeal entity fits
I just want eat your world and get
Kissed

I never meant to cause you any sorrow
I never meant to cause you any pain
I only wanted one time to taste your planet
I only want to see you giving life to the purple man
Purple man, purple man
Purple man, purple man
Purple man, purple man
I only want to see you give your planet to the purple man
I never wanted to be your world devourer
I only wanted some kind of snack
Sol, I could never smell another class M5 flower
It's such a shame your tasty core is gonna crack
Purple man, purple man
Purple man, purple man
Purple man, purple man
I only want to see you with an ultimate nullifier in my hand!

Not many characters can rock purple the way Big G does. A wonderfully graphic tease that illustrates what can't be seen is almost as interesting as what can be seen. Good eye sir.

Really interesting use of exposure with the big man. Also his haunted eyes are what really draws me in.

WOW, M L - just wow... I can only imagine what this must be like to see in person, and am trying to grok just how many different purples are achieved here. Like Eranga pointed out, I love the tech (especially the left side of the piece and the detail of Galactus' "helmet fin", and Chris was spot on about the design of the piece itself - the unorthodox shape of the whole thing adds to the otherworldly and "higher plane of existence" vibe of the piece; it feels like it is a message from Galactus himself, and not just from the Maestro Bianchi. Incredible add, M L!

We'd just give Galen a Planet–sized case of indigestion. We've spoiled, it seems. Man, who doesn't love Galactus? I really dig Bianchi's take. So original, but classic, too. Quite a trick. Congrats!

Man, this is one of the best Galactus pieces I've seen. Love Bianchi's design sense, the pure illustration, and the COLORS. Whew. More lighting on the left, which looks great, and it feels like he's looking right at you. Winning image all around, M. Congrats!

Immediatley apparent that this is Big G but the outline in the thumbnail really intrigued me and love what Simone did here. SO GOOD! Congrats, can't wait to see what your next Galactus piece is!
