DescriptionCaptain America #287. Why this is really special to me... This issue came out when I was 12 years old. And while I had liked Cap, it wasn't until 286-287 did I start to love the character Steve Rogers and start to collect the series. Steve Rogers is my favorite fictional character of all time. To own a page from the first Cap comic I ever owned is really special. I was so excited to finally meet Mike Zeck at Baltimore and get him and John Beatty to sign the page.Fellow Cap fan? Zeck/Beatty were the perfect pairing for Cap as evidenced by this great page. Almost like 2 mini splashes there in panels 1 and 2, especially with the big sound effect lettering! And it's all capped off nicely with a great head shot of our hero in panel 3. Hard to top a page from the first comic you ever read of your favorite hero - sincere congrats!

Thanks for your comment. I agree 100% on the Zeck Beatty pairing. I was lucky enough to get a commission from them of Cap. They still got it!

Lovely dynamic page - artistically more interesting than some covers I'd say.
