Hounds of the Morrigan

The cover to The Hounds of the Morrigan by Pat O'Shea, Harper Trophy/Harper Collins 1999.

This is a signature piece for Kinuko. In addition to being a book cover, the art also appeared as the cover to Realms of Fantasy, April 2006, Kinuko's Women of Enchantment calendar 2010, and was a part of the Heroines of Literature exhibition at the Cornish Colony Museum Dec. 2006 - March 2007.

I really admired the cover art when the paperback came out in 1999, and really, really wanted to buy the painting when Duirwaigh Gallery offered the original about a year later; unfortunately couldn't even come close to the asking price at the time. Fast forward 21 years later ... good things come to those who wait ... ;)
