Description

Champions #1 was released a couple weeks after the animated Oscar winning movie Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Making it a great jumping on point for fans of the film wanting more Miles Morales!

Written by Jim Zub this issue is called "Beat the Devil". This is the last page from issue 1 when Mephisto makes his shocking appearance. In issue 2 it's revealed that Kamala Khan and Viv Vision die in battle and Mephisto offers to rewind time to give Miles a second another chance. In doing so Miles Morales can't save the innocent bystander he saved the first go around and it tears him apart inside, to the point that he exits the Champions.

Penciled by Steven Cummings on approx 11" x 17" illustration paper. Signed by both Steven and writer Jim Zub. I'll update the scan soon.

The Parker luck...follows the Spider folk. But they do the best with what they got! Emotional stuff, and a great looking capper splash, J. Definitely makes you wanna see what happens next issue! Congrats!

Fantastic splash! And a very interesting plot line, demonstrating once again how time travel may fix some things, but always at a price. That's why I don't do it very much any more ... I mean, um er, time travel, whaaaat? Of COURSE it doesn't exist!! Don't be SILLY. (I think they bought it)
