Grindberg does a great job with hitting the grim and gritty style of DD artists past and present to showcase how a young Matt can fall under Kingpin's tutilage. Totally believable and possible given a twist of fate.
That first panel is just magnificent storytelling. You cannot encapsulate the difference between Kingpin and DD much better than that. What If is a favorite of mine, and I so dug this story. A perfect story for the title. Great find. Congrats!
