Description

Young Matt Murdock's future changes on this "What If...?" page. As he accepts Kingpin's offer that arrange the killing of his fathers murders. By the end of the story when Matt is older it leads to the redemption of Kingpin with him deciding to go straight. Unfortunately Kingpin's son wants his legacy and mantle and murders his father. Matt avenges Kingpin and kills his son and henchmen. Then Matt takes up the mantle of both Kingpin and Daredevil on the final page.

With Marvel "What If...?" animated series getting a 2nd season on Disney+ soon. Fingers crossed this story is told. It was one of my favorites from the series.

Grindberg does a great job with hitting the grim and gritty style of DD artists past and present to showcase how a young Matt can fall under Kingpin's tutilage. Totally believable and possible given a twist of fate.

That first panel is just magnificent storytelling. You cannot encapsulate the difference between Kingpin and DD much better than that. What If is a favorite of mine, and I so dug this story. A perfect story for the title. Great find. Congrats!

What a Great page. I adore the old Kingpin pages. When the man was the size of a house.
