DescriptionThis is "the pearl" page. Bruce isn't sure if his own son, Damian, has a soul after certain recent events. That is until Damian proves he does, presenting to his father a pearl that belonged to Martha, Bruce's late mother and Damian's grandmother.I love pages that tell a story. I love pages featuring characters experiencing personal hardships and strains to the relationships they hold dear. And I love large shots of hands in panels (makes me think of Jack Kirby). This page has it all for me. Social/Sharing |

This is a superb storytelling page, with some really lovely POV changes that are very pleasing to the eye. Nice inking choices here, too, giving every panel something a bit different in terms of 'feel'. Thanks for your description - I hadn't read this story, and the idea of Damian giving Bruce one of his mother's pearls is really cool and adds weight to the piece. Congrats!

Oh, you have got to read Tomasi/Gleason/Gray/et al's B&R run. It is a masterpiece and probably my favorite series to come out of the DC New 52. The talent fires on all cylinders. And I agree with you, Mick Gray's inks are smart and superbly done, providing each panel with something unique.

Wow! Gorgeous page! Love the way Gleason uses mulitple angles to tell the story. That central panel with just Damian's hand and the pearl is so arresting!

I completely agree! And I think you use the perfect word in "arresting" within your comment. And thank you for taking the time to comment on the page! All the best!

Such a moving moment in Damian's story! Gleason and Gray combine to bring pages to life...simply amazing.
