Yeah manga art is not out there, but it seems some are starting to appear from the unknown books at least to the west. I have a few more modern pages I'll post soon.

Please do keep posting these!  It's a revelation to see comic art from different cultures with their own set of tropes and conventions.  I'm finally starting to appreciate manga due to some American comic artists --- DWJ, SGM, and Harren foremost among them --- who fold aspects of Eastern (and European) comic art into their work.

I was never big into manga as a kid. Yeah there was AKira but I never liked the big eye look of the rest. It was too stylized. Also growing up in NYC my best friend being Chinese brought home stuff from Chinatown. So I was exposed to books and anime he had translated into Chinese that never hit the American market at all or till later. I don't think it was until I read Understanding comics and then Lone wolf and cub and Tezuka's Phoenix that I really appreciated and got the manga storytelling. Paul Pope is also another great creator who mergers European and Asian comics well. Lately I have been on a Jiro Tanaguchi reading spree. It's amazing how he can make page after page of mountains so entertaining and engaging.

The storytelling has a nice clarity in action imagery of this fight as we could follow the action right to left or just enjoy them individually.

Yeah the pacing is great on this one. each panel is dynamic without uisng tricks or panel breaks etc. I like the ninja magic in panel #38 that dazzles the eye as a bird not the man. Don't find that in American comics, nor the panel numbering is case people didn't know how to read the page.
