DescriptionFirst there was Frog Thor. Now here's one that Simonson probably never thought of. It’s none other than Yoda himself wielding the power of Mjölnir. Not too surprising, as it would be difficult to think of anyone being more worthy than the Master of Jedi Masters. So is it Jedi of Thunder, or Thunder Jedi? Either way it’s an amusing concept that was wonderfully imagined and skillfully executed.
This smile-inducing piece, however, is obviously played for laughs (although it might have been even funnier if he had given Yoda long blonde hair and the helmet too). Even so, the artist certainly put a lot of effort and love into this drawing. As a collector, when you get an involuntary smile from seeing a piece of art, that’s usually a good sign. So it was pretty easy for me to jump all over this as soon as I saw it. Not only is the linework great here, but the coloring is FANTASTIC! Oh, and there was even an extra special treat on the back (see Additional Images). Not sure if this was the original idea that was subsequently abandoned, or the concept design for a future piece. But just seeing that rough layout with Doctor Manhattan and the Silver Surfer had my imagination running wild. Definitely something I would love to discuss with the artist if I ever run into him. Anyway, my thanks to Lan Medina for his talent and imagination. And of course, for doing our heritage proud and representing it in such a positive, creative, and fun way. Also, my thanks to all the fine folks at ComiConArt. Appreciate you all stopping by. Social/Sharing |

Noobmaster, hey, it's Yoda-Thor again. You know, the Jedi of Thunder. Listen, bud, if you don't log off this game immediately, I am gonna fly over to your house, come down to that basement you're hiding in, rip off your arms, and shove them up your butt!

Ha! This reads like a typical John C comment. Haven't heard from him in a while, but I guess you're filling in for him. Great job by the way.

This one brings a smile to my face too. I love how casually Yoda tosses away the lightsaber. Yoda knows a magical hammer is SO much better. 😀
