Here's a little gouache (opaque watercolor) study by Robert Watts. Robert did this as a demonstration of how one can do studies from master painters, this one from a landscape by Western painter Glenn Dean.

Two dozen water dirty colors
Must be a study for it
Cry, cry but I don't see my mesa
Just hold my Watts while I come to demonstration on it

Sooner on mesa your legs give way, you paint the ground
Save it for mesa, you do landscape gouache paint it brown
Sooner or mesa you'll hit Glenn Dean, Robert Watts out
Save it for mesa, don't run away to get Dean down, to get Dean down

I think I can see Rick's house. If you squint, stand on one leg and lean slightly to the side. Now where did I put my glasses and my sock.

Man, love those gradients of color. Reminds me of some of the mesas here in my home state of AZ :) Congrats!
