DescriptionThis piece is my love letter to the Amazing George Perez! George's art inspired me as a young child to want to be a comic book artist. I was at the right age when George became the regular artist on The Avengers making it one of my favorite comic books of all time! I watched George evolve as an artist on that book and move onto other classic comics as well, creating history along the way! Among my favorite issues by George on The Avengers were the ones inked by Pablo Marcos. Issue #160 was among my favorite issues. The story focused on the villainous Grim Reaper putting The Avengers on trial as his long dead brother Wonder Man returned from the grave. This panel in particular always resonated with me over the many years since I bought that book when it was published. The recent recreations I inked of Captain America and Howard the Duck were warm-ups for this piece that I was preparing to take on. I knew the incredible detail that Perez illustrated on his projects would be daunting, but I gladly took on the challenge. Thank you to George for all his years of giving us beautiful art to gaze at in awe, and for being the wonderful person that he is. Social/Sharing |

Thank you Rob! As you can see it was a lot of work but a labor of love to recreate a piece that had such an impact on a young fan.

Really nice ink work! The background must have taken a long while

Thanks Rick! Yes, inking the background took twice as long as inking the characters.
