DescriptionLarge sketch by Simon Hanselmann of his principal characters Megg, Mogg, Owl, and Werewolf Jones drawn in my personal copy of his art book, Hypnotic Midday Movie.I don’t normally post the sketches I acquire from signings but I wanted to post this one that Simon drew for me at his March 2025 signing in Oakland with fellow cartoonists Josh Pettinger and Greg and Fake. I have several pieces of Simon’s art in my gallery but this may be the one I appreciate the most. Social/Sharing |

So good! There's four because they are a family. Through all the dire and crazy stuff in the stories, they still remain a unit.

Now this is a special treat! Not just a killer Hanselmann sketch, but the whole main cast captured in ink? Getting the entire Megg, Mogg, Owl, and Werewolf Jones crew is next level cool! Gotta love when an artist brings that genuine generosity to their fans. Definitely a treasure in your collection, Mark.

That's the stuff! Can't get enough of these misanthropic miscreants. So glad you had a great interaction with Hanselmann.

The full cas is here. This actually looks like a nice children's book. If only they knew...;)

Until the Felix podcast with David Choe I had never even heard of Megg and Mogg (I think I mistook them for the much more all ages-duo Meg and Mog); talk about being late to the party. But I am catching up and their escapades have prompted the most snorting laughter from me for many years. You have a choice collection of Hanselmann originals and this is just another peach. I am glad you decided to upload this – it is very nice to look at. Truly thank you for sharing!
