This definitely deserves the larger scan to see how Raymond accomplishes those textures in the characters and the wooded environment.

Fabulous Rip Kirby strip! Alex Raymond was such a fantastic artist it's a shame most people only know of his work on Flash Gordon but very few have seen his Rip Kirby. But as on Flash Gordon, Raymond showed he was a master of composition and anatomy on Rip Kirby as well. And his inking skills are simply beyond the pale. The almost decorative patterns of the leaves in the first panel is amazing. And the way he created different types of bark on each of the trees is a master class in how to ink trees. This is a glorious exmple!

A beautiful example of Raymond handling outdoor scenes with simplicity and texture. I'm happy it found a good home, I was your bidding contender for it :) Congrats!
