DescriptionI generally don't double-dip with artists for commissions...but sometimes you gotta make an exception. Like when James Harren decides he's gonna do for color what he did for screen tones (James is the reason screen tones have become so popular with artists over the past 10 years). He's been doing single character 9X12 color commissions for a few years now. I wanted to see if he could start doing multiple character 11X17 color commissions, and let him try it out with DKR. As usual, he killed it. A uniquely Harren reinterpretation of the classic Miller splash.Social/Sharing |

Two pieces of Harren, think it’s not at all redundant
'85 or '86? I really can't remember which
Comic mags, no bags, man, I read the Miller monthly
Who knows what art drop that Felix will bring?

And Harren on the Darkest Knight in the colors there

Harren's take on Miller's DK is great, the mass and movement brings this home.

Good lord, look at those mitts! Love the counterpoint of the hulking Bruce with the lithe and limber Carrie. He looks like he is plummeting to Earth while she appears to be floating.

SO good, man! Channels the classic DKR but with that uber unique Harren spin! Dynamic poses and unreal colors. Whew. Congrats!

Jawdropping Dark Knight Returns commission from the incomparable James Harren! Gorgeous composition, wonderful figurework and stunning use of color! This one has it all!
