DescriptionA prime Murphy example for me.Azrael played a major role in the Curse of the White Knight series and this image was his debut in the Murphyverse. When it was revealed to solicit the series I immediately loved Sean's version and I was excited to see Jean Paul Valley revitalized. As a '90s Batman fan, Azrael has always been one of my favorite characters despite all the haters. This image was used for promo posters, house ads, the cover to issue #1, McFarlane toy packaging, a trading card, the hardcover book collecting the series, .... I don't even like Azrael. But in Sean's hand, for some reason, he's pretty badass. This is a great cover with some pretty damn fine fire effects. Congrats.

Azrael has a bad rap and is disliked by many (probably because Jean Paul Valley is a douche), but he is just confused and trying to find his purpose. The character of Azrael is pretty bad-ass though if you ask me. 🗡 🔥

I am pretty sure that Mikail, Eranga and I spotted Mr. Murphy while eating at Roy's Friday night after the hall closed at SDCC. We should have shaken him down for all his art in the men's room. Missed opportunity for us, but glad you scored this piece!

I recently got into Murphy's Batman run and consumed everything in a week. All of his work is fantastic, but this was one of the pages that stood out from the Curse run. Great pickup.

This is so bad ass! Azrael is definitely up there in the "coolest villains" category for me. Murphy really raised the bar with his iteration of the character. So good!
