Continuing my New York theme, here is the cover to Punisher #13.

Declan's Moon Knight run gets all the attention, but his series of Punisher covers is criminally underrated. As the series was not well received (with no fault to Declan as simply the cover artist) I think they ended up going under the radar. It's a real shame as they are truly fantastic.

Each one is completely different yet full of his charm and style. He hid a Punisher skull (some more hidden than others) in each cover -- this one being in the lights of the skyscraper. I don't know what to say about this cover other than he absolutely nailed the vibe of NYC. Frank appropriately emerges from the dark gritty underbelly of the NY subway system, dripping blood from his last encounter. As he enters the glow of the city, I can't help but imagine what trouble he is about to get into. The city feels alive and lived in, and this cover perfectly sets the stage for Frank's next adventure.

Wonderful cover! So much can be deduced by that blood trail up the stairs. Love the perspective used as well.

Thank you! I love the angle as well. I agree with you about the blood trail, it adds so much to the reading of the image. I imagine it is coming from some serious gun wound Frank has, and he'll be damned if it's going to stop him. I wonder how many people he dealt with in the subway to get it. Are we sharing the perspective of one of them he left to die? It's just such great visual storytelling. I really want Declan to have his own Punisher series.

I love everything about this cover. You really feel the weariness of an injured Punisher climbing the subway stairs into the city, where his logo is so cleverly incorporated into the lights of the skyscraper. I am particularly impressed with how Shalvey artistically treated the tiles in the lower right. He is a true master.

I was bummed to miss out on one of these. Really liked how Shalvey incorporated the skull imagery in the ovverall design and scene setting. Great example here, as Frank emerges from the underworld after doing what he do. Congrats!
