DescriptionTo me, this is the most iconic moment of Captain America in comics and the strongest example of what makes the character so special : he will always stand up to a bully, and he will never quit no matter the odds. This exchange was clearly the inspiration for the final showdown between Cap and Thanos in Avengers Endgame and I am so glad I was given the opportunity to purchase it. I have wanted a page from this showdown with Cap for quite some time, and finally, the fat lady has sung.In terms of execution, I am a big fan of the artistic choices they made to tell this part of the story. They could have easily gone from the top panels into the next page -- it would have made complete narrative sense and been entirely consistent with the pacing of the rest of the book. Instead the choice was made to slow everything down, and let the moment settle and build tension. The narrow full horizontal panels were the perfect storytelling elements. The first re-establishes and accentuates the distance between Cap and Thanos; and the following ones stretch out the moment, making the closing gap the focus of story. Thanos stands in place through all of it, motionless, vaguely intrigued by Cap's behavior but showing the reader he feels completely unthreatened. Lim really stuck the landing on the design of this page. ----- This moment has been written about numerous times and made multiple top 10 lists. A moment for the ages! All the cosmic stuff falls away when you strip it down to Super Soldier man vs Mad Titan.

this is the page of all pages to own from the series. congrats. this is almost unbelieveable to see on caf and i know it must look better in person.

A showdown indeed! Cap and Thanos face to face, throw in some Warlock and Surfer and you've got yourself a page that checks many of the boxes required for a good Infinity Gauntlet page. Very nice Andrew.

Stunning page! And I totally agree. That impending showdown between Cap and Thanos in those last three wonderful panels is a pure example of what makes Cap so special. He will NOT back down.

Thanks! Yeah, it's moments like these that ended up informing his whole "I can do this all day" routine that has become so iconic in the MCU.
