Thanks, Roger! Yeah, you can definitely see it in this page. It's amazing how his influence continues with guys like David Choe today. Would love to get something from him some day, just haven't found the right piece.

Thank you, Steve! I'm in the same boat and I feel so fortunate it came up for sale when it did. A year earlier and I probably would have missed it XD

This belonged in the fine art world and Sienkiewicz stuck it into the Marvel Universe. He made comics to be thought of as a modern artform by having the ability to evolve and thrive! It's shocking and experimental because it touches upon psychological themes not done before.

Thanks for the comment, Paul! I suspected there was interesting stuff going on with the page, but it wasn't until I got it in my hands that I could really tell Bill was playing with texture and structure. Makes me want to take a magnifying glass to my screen every time I see new art from him posted on CAF etc XD

Thank you, James! It was a lot of fun to chat about art with other collectors. You don't often get the opportunity to talk about why you bought something with people that might be remotely interested lol.

Thank you! I greatly appreciated that, Samuel. I mean obviously I didn't draw it, but it's good to know I am not alone in crazytown for my love for Sienk's genius on display here :)

There has never been a more groundbreaking artist in comics than Bill Sienkiewicz. His exploratory work on New Mutants opened the door for the rest of the art community to stretch the boundaries that held them back from trying new layouts, new styles and new techniques. This page shows it all. A layout without rigid panels, without word balloons. Storytelling that moved across the page fluidly not mechanically. Artwork that looked less like cartoons and more like art. This is a key page from a revolutionary moment in comic history. Thanks for sharing it with us.
