I won this on a recent comic link auction. just a stunning portrait of Hellboy by Eric Meador. I am not the biggest Hellboy fan but couldn't pass up this amazing piece. all the different symbols surrounding him. the colors on this piece are astounding to say the least. I think it is done in acrylic paints. Eric is open for commissions thru Kirk Dilbeck aka 3 wishes aka Patron of Art C.A.F gallery

Looks like color pencils hit with different colors of paint spray. If Hellboy has to ignore everything behind him, what he sees in front of him must be much worse.

I thought so about the colored pencils also maybe a mixture of both but it really adds the next level mystical element to the piece.
