Description

My wife surprised me the other day with this original sketch when I came home from work! That the piece was already personalized to someone with the same name as me was the bonus! John Romita Sr was one of the first comic book artists I knew by name as a young child. He was on an episode of Wonderama in NY, with Stan Lee, drawing large sketches for the audience of kids. While I was in kindergarten my mom bought me the Spider-Man record album which had a fold out comic art by Romita inside the album jacket! Those are my first memories of Romita's art. When the Spider-Man newspaper strip debuted in 1977 I got to see Romita draw the character on a daily basis! And I cut and saved most of the Sunday strips which I have to this day!
