That's a great looking Hulk as he is given a bulky mass compared to a spry Spidey in their less fully formed Silver Aged versions. The dynamic of their battle is tremendous with strength vs speed.

Smitty is a child of the Silver Age and especially Ditko so it's fitting that he went with Spidey and Hulk's original forms. Thanks, as always, for your insightful comments, Marcus!

That Ditko version of Spidey is spot on, and I appreciate that the characters are done in proper scale. Really adds to the dramatic "David and Golaith" aspect of the piece.

Thank you, Eric! It's amazing how often characters like the Hulk are drawn out of scale. Much of the Hulk's visual power comes from his enormous size. As you so astutely note, characters done in the proper scale create lots of visual drama.

Another great addition to your Paul Smith collection. I love Hulk's angry almost quizzical expression ("What Amina dealing with here?") and Spidey's arial contortion.

Paul Smith smash!!! He totally clobbered this commission (Sorry, Ben). I love the old-school renderings. Great score. Congrats!

Thank you, my friend! I also love Smitty's old-school renderings. This drawing feels like it came from a lost issue of Amazing Spider-Man in its first few years. The Ditko influence is palpable.
