Description

Here it is. A half decade of haunting Paul Smith's online sales, trying to assemble pictures of Spider-Man and the original Sinister Six. Eventually, the project grew to get as many of the original Ditko villains as possible -- like the Green Goblin and the Lizard, neither of whom was a member of the original Sinister Six. By last year, I had everyone save one villain -- Sandman.

Luckily, there was a collector I was able to find online who had a Smitty Sandman and I traded him an extra Dr. Octopus that I had for ol' Sandy. Using an online collage maker, I was able to assemble my Smith Spider-Man pieces in this display. Yes, every one of the individual drawings is in my collection. Each image is 8.5 x 11 inches. Let me know what you think.

Now I just need a Mystique to complete my Paul Smith X-Men: Heroes and Villains collage...

Oh boy!  I know you know how much I love this.  Yes, I know these are all individual pieces, but I really, really, love this presentation.  Hmm, makes me think of how good this would look if framed this way.  Hint-hint.  Anyway, congrats on this fun and fabulous Rogues Gallery.  By the way, I know you have a Mysterio coming, but I'm wondering where you can squeeze him in (without ruining the wonderful balance of this arrangement).

Thank you, Eric!  I'll take your advice and try to frame the pieces together.

Big congrats on completing this project!  Seeing all of the pieces together makes me wish we could get Smith on an "Untold Tales of Spider-Man" type book for a nice, long run.

Thank you, Michael!  You're absolutely right; it's too bad Smitty never did a long Spider-Man run. He certainly knows how to draw the characters!

Amazing to see them all together! Now all you need is a one giant frame.

You got the gang back together. Wow, when you stitch it all together like that, it looks incredible. i'd even consider going to a really good framer, and getting the images framed together that way. It would look so sweet on the wall. Great collection. Congrats!

Thank you, my friend!  Putting these pieces together really felt like re-uniting the band.

Superb!  Scintillating!  SINISTER!  Oh my gosh, A K - this is absolutely awesome, like some episode of Hollywood Squares that has gone horribly wrong (or horribly right, as the case may be).  You said you had a good idea of how to display your newly completed "Smittyster Six", and you did not disappoint!  Individually, these are all fantastic pieces, but put together like this, the synergy is remarkable.  Add my voice to the chorus of those who believe the pieces should be framed or displayed in this way!  Congrats again, A K!  This rocks!

"Hollywood Squares" gone wrong...I love it!  Does that mean Spider-Man is Paul Lynde?  "Smittyster Six" is another brilliant coinage, Jason.  It's going to be difficult but I'm going to try and frame all of these pieces together; the chorus must be heeded!  Thanks again for your comment, my friend.

Wow! What a splendid array of portraits of Spidey and his most sinister villains! Paul Smith's drawings here are priceless. Love the clean lines and simplicity of Smith's work. My sincere congratulations on a most amazing collection!

Wow, that's great!  So much Smith goodness on one board!  Channelling Ditko here, but still all his own!  Congrats!

Thank you, my friend!  As you note, Paul Smith channels Ditko but also brings his own unique style to the mix.
