Hard to believe it’s 30 years already. This November, DC Comics is celebrating the Death of Superman with all new stories from the Original Creative Teams in the Death of Superman 30th Anniversary Special #1.

From the moment this book was announced, demand for the pages – a piece of history – has been non-stop!

As a part of the original team, Tom is honored to be a part of this anniversary project and has put together some of his finest pages ever to commemorate the event. Working with a story by the legendary Jerry Ordway and finished by long time collaborator Doug Hazlewood you know this is going to be something special.

While we can’t wait for you to see the story we can’t share it just yet. What we can share is Page #1 of the 10 page story – and we are making this available to you. This is Tom's original pencil art for the page! To allow everyone a fair shot at a page from this once in a lifetime event, we are opening up to offers on this page.

Here’s how it will work – between now until Monday August 29, 12 noon CST send your best offer to bjshamm@gmail.com. Please put the subject as Superman to ensure it is seen! After the offer period, all will be reviewed, and holder of the top offer will be notified.

Payment of the winning offer is preferred by Paypal, however other arrangements can be considered – please include in your offer if you plan to pay by an alternate method.

What about the other 9 pages? Well those will be made available once published by DC. We anticipate an epic art drop when the book is published with remaining pages available on a first come basis.

Each of the original creative teams from The Death of Superman has reunited to tell a story that shows how some of Superman’s biggest allies reacted during and after his fateful battle with Doomsday:

“The Life of Superman” by Dan Jurgens (W & A), Brett Breeding (A), Brad Anderson (C), and John Workman (L) - A young Jon Kent finds out in school that his dad had died years earlier, as his parents never told him about that fateful day. In the midst of dealing with this emotional news, Jon and Clark need to team up to fight a new villain connected to Doomsday called DOOMBREAKER.

“Standing Guard” by Roger Stern (W), Butch Guice (A), Glenn Whitmore (C), and Rob Leigh (L) - The epic battle between Superman and Doomsday from the Guardians’ perspective.

“Time” by Louise Simonson (W), Jon Bogdanove (A), Glenn Whitmore (C), and Rob Leigh (L) - The story of how the death of Superman looked from John Henry Irons’s perspective.

“Above and Beyond” by Jerry Ordway (W), Tom Grummett (P), Doug Hazlewood (I), Glenn Whitmore (C), and Rob Leigh (L) - A powerful story of Ma and Pa Kent watching their son fight Doomsday live on television and going through Clark’s photo albums with the feeling that their son always prevails.
