Yeah...the covers were okay for this series...but the B&W were breathtaking...juicey bolts of wet black ink, with lush brushwork.Bernie was taking his "new" style out for a ride ..and doing it "Steve McQueen" like.I was lucky to see a bunch of these originals while working on "Catwoman", and was blown away by their beauty.The scenes in the sewer to this day have a hold on me..just the best of the best...maybe the best Batman art of the entire 1980's...well a neck & neck with "Batman: Year One" & "Killing Joke".

I loved this cover since it came out. The pure look of fear in that guy's face is priceless.
