Description

I picked this up at the comicartcon in New Jersey. great page by rich Buckler and Bob McLeod, I recently returned Prince Namor stirs up his subjects against the humans. while in the backdrop warlord Krang is be rejected by the Lady Dorma as she turns her attention to her true love (as Krang swears vengeance) Namor. Talk about a love triangle gone bad. especially that middle panel of Namor on the throne. I love the last two panels with the exchange between Namor and Dorma. the expression on her face is amazing as Namor(love that crown) reminds her she is to be married to Krang. Buckler is one of my favorites and McLeod inks really tell a story with this page.

they really do. That panel of Namor looking down at her as he remembers their childhood and then he throws that back handed compilment to her really stands out for me.

This is Buckler and McLeod doing Alex Raymond flash Gordon. The heavy doses of melodrama, alien regal settings, and a Lady Dorma with a look right out of sci-fi glamor princess. I can't say the same about any other pages from the series, but this page is a McLeod delight!

you are right marcus. it does have all the elements of that. just swap the setting from underwater to a far off planet.

The melodrama in the final two panels is fabulous! Did you notice that the middle panel has the feel of a classic Kirby Fantastic Four issue? Buckler and McLeod always made a good paring. Kudos, Brian!
