Description6" x 8.25" / 16.3 x 25 cm photocopied page hand-colored by Bill Everett in watercolor back in 1968.The set of 38 color guides for Silver Surfer #1 sold on Heritage Auctions for 4.6K in 2008... This is the page leading up to the rebirth of Norrin Radd as the Silver Surfer. Etched in my memory since I discovered the origin story of the Surfer in March 1978 (in the French magazine Nova #2). First time in many years that I actually gasped for breath when I saw this page and held it in my hands... I own few color guides but this one is definitely a gem. Social/Sharing |

A classic book! The Everett coloring with the linework created special effects that reflected the psychedelia images prevalent in pop art in 1968.
