DescriptionPERRY RHODAN-Novel #12 (Original Cover Art) - Johnny Bruck (1961).Another rare early PERRY RHODAN cover with beautiful action and colors. The printed version was published first on November 24, 1961 under the title »Das Geheimnis der Zeitgruft« (The Secret of the Time Vault). This piece is the original cover for the first edition and was used for all 5 printed editions. Gouache on illustration board. In the US, this cover was used for PERRY RHODAN #6 published first by ACE Books under the title 'The Secret of the Time Vault' in August 1971. For the second and thrid edition a cover from Gray Morrow was used. It is interesting to see how the artist added some detail and sharpened images and color for the various printed editions. I add pictures of the first and fifth printed edition so you can see the subtle changes added to the original piece over time. Social/Sharing |

That's a stunning combination of war and science fiction genres. The strafing run on the lizard people army is great up close action framed with that attractive sunset color of the orange skies that makes it look like the whole atmosphere is ablaze.
