DescriptionOriginal cover art from Johnny Bruck (March 22, 1921 - October 6, 1995). Gouache on illustration board. Roughly 14x20 in B3 format size.Cover of German Atlan episode #619, published in 1983 under the title 'Planet in Flammen' (Planet in Flames). Atlan da Gonozal is a main character of the Perry Rhodan series. Given the character was very popular, it was given its own series within the Perry Rhodan universe starting 1969. It was quite successful and the last edition #850 was published in 1988. Johnny Bruck painted the majority of covers. Social/Sharing |

The boiling upper atmosphere is an amazing effect! A cautionary tale when thoughts of the cold war was still very strong in our daily lives.
