Original Cover Art - Nikolai Lutohin (1932 - 2000)

Cover of the German MYTHOR #132 magazine, originally published under the title 'Raub der Zauberkristalle' (Theft of the magic crystals) in September 1983.

Gouache on illustration board. Size 14.5 x 20 in. Signed lower right.

The German pulp series MYTHOR originally had 192 episodes in total and was published from April 1980 to December 1985. The covers are mainly from Nikolai Lutohin with some contributions from Alfred Kelsner, Franz Berthold, and Johnny Bruck.

Nikolai Lutohin worked for the publishers Pabel and Bastei and created many covers for various German science fiction (Utopia Classics, Terra Fantasy, Sun Koh), fantasy (Mythor), and horror (John Sinclair, Professor Zamorra, D�monenkiller) pulp series

These colors are wonderful! It is classic sword and sorcery with the bioluminescence of the bog creatures and environment to provide the magical end of the deal. Meanwhile, the adventure end of things has a nice glow too.
