Description

Original Cover Art - Boris Vallejo (Peruvian-born American, 1941).

Gateway paperback cover (1976). Not only a great vintage Boris painting but the cover to a classic SF novel.

Published as the cover of Gateway by Frederik Pohl (St. Martin's Press, 1977). This artwork also appears on page 74 of 'The Fantastic Art of Boris Vallejo' (Del Rey, 1978). Moreover, the image is published in multiple magazines including Perry Rhodan Magazine 1/1979 and 2/1981.

Oil on board, 25 x 15.5 in. (sight). Signed lower right. Framed Dimensions 32.5 X 22.5 in.

Boris puts a lot of muscle behind these sleek spacecraft designs that resemble yachts and race boats with rocket propulsion! The special effects fo stars, clouds, and nebulus gasses bring this space fantasy to life.
