Description

This was rendered on toned paper using pencil and white tempera paint. The 3/4 profile is challenging to portray since both sides of the face are seen, but they don't look the same. Cohen is a French artist living in Florence, Italy.

Spray with fixative, cover with one coat of clear gesso, then roll up your sleeves and paint over with oil or acrylic paint. For the painter, this serves as a very detailed under painting. So detailed, in fact, that it can stand alone as a work of art in pencil.

Painting in pencil. The late Gene Colan would love this.
