Description

Every October, some artists draw one piece every day for a discipline known as "Inktober." Some artists enjoy it; some find it annoying. Some use a set of day-specific prompts to challenge and direct their work.

Keith Browning produced this 9x12 Inktober piece based on the prompt word "Promise." One image implies a whole story, as Two-Face shows James Gordon the fate that may await him, depending on the toss of a coin. The cloth gag in Gordon's mouth implies that he is captive and bound. The broken glass in the background is both a mirror and a window, echoing Two-Face's own dual nature.

Bring on Inktober! Really awesome piece (oh boy the lighting!!!). This feels like it could be purely a horror cover image if I wasn't already so familiar with Two-Face and Gordon's characters so it gives you that Batman element as well. Very cool!

Tackles the challenge of the prompt with both feet in! Uses lots of ink to keep this mysterious and dark as to the eventual outcome!
