Two years into collecting comic art and I have acquired my grail piece: PSYLOCKE BY JIM LEE!

Jim Lee has always been my favorite comic book artist. Psylocke has always been my favorite comic book character (blame our 90s obsession with ninjas, her appearance in the X-Men/Marvel fighting games, and Jim's sexy costume design). So it makes sense that my grail would be the two combined.

I had my first chance back in April when I ordered a buck slip (3.75" x 7.5") from Jim's art dealer (Albert Moy), but I chose Chun-Li at the last minute and Jim came up with a fairly quick sketch at SC Comicon. After seeing others who ordered two buck slips facing each other, I quickly ordered another and requested that Jim draw Psylocke facing right so she could be looking at my left-facing Chun-Li (Jim has mentioned that he prefers to draw profiles facing left because he's right-handed).

Six months later, Jim produced this beauty. The quality of his work on this buck slip is INSANE (especially compared to his earlier Chun-Li piece): the pencil shading, the full inks, the Wite-Out, the crosshatching, and yes, the KIRBY KRACKLE! All this on a tiny strip of paper! I'm still speechless.

Thank you Jim (and Albert!) for making this fanboy's dream come true!

It's more complex than Jim Lee sketching. You can tell it's a full illo with this much polish put into it.
