David Finch and Danny Miki cover to New Avengers 11 - Ronin. 1st appearance of Ronin!
Ronin was on the cover to a 4 variant and in the back of 7. Still, I think 11 is regarded as the 1st appearance.

I recall the anticipation of this issue- "Who is Ronin?" I was rooting for Tony Masters having enjoyed the updated Taskmaster in Gail Simone's Deadpool, Agent X along with a limited series by Udon Studios. Back to New Avengers - yeah, Ronin wasn't Taskmaster. Ronin's suit was muscle padding with lifts. If you've read this far and STILL haven't read this series, I won't spoil more. I'll just say that it would have been cool to see David Finch's version of tech updated Taskmaster. I digress again.

I was lucky to score this cover via The Artist's Choice many years ago. I was in near shock it wasn't reserved. Back then The Artist Choice updates were frequent, I browsed and checked the site daily. Thanks Spencer, David and Danny!

So, so, SO awesome, Bo! Many of the covers of this era (and even continuing to the present day) were more splashy, character pin ups than storytelling vehicles, but I always -loved- how this one was able to do both. New hero arriving on the scene, bursting in through the skylight to break up some criminal dealings.. and doesn't he look AWESOME?!? Phenomenal piece to display, Bo! Sincere congrats - wicked cool! I totally love this one! :)
