DescriptionThank you so much for our Frank Thorne experts out there who had shed a little light on this drawing as being someone's rendition of a Treasury Edition comic. In April 2022 I purchased this unsigned pencil art from a Central Florida fleamarket comic seller who said he had bought out a couple comic shop inventories at some point, of which this was a part. I really couldn't pass up the extra large drawing of Red Sonya. Although a cool piece, I received great feedback thoughts and perspective by Thorne collectors. Apparently it is a nice "copy". Like to say thank you very much for the inputs. I'll have to add matting to finish up the framing sometime. Social/Sharing |

Hi. I collect Thorne art and I completely agree with Mr Lee's comment above. The difference that stands out to me is that Frank was very skilled and particular with drawing contrasting curved lines. For example, the sharp curves of the ends of the cloak contrasting/ framing the longer curves of the limbs. The artist of your drawing doesn't have that same consistent line/curve control. Having said that, the spirit of the piece is there and it is very fun to see. I hope that it gets displayed prominently!

Thank you so much for you're comment.. It puts a lot of the the wondering to rest. I do think it is a pretty cool piece, but I thought I would ask the experts an actual Frank Thorne artwork. I knew if it was a chance of getting an answer I should post it on my gallery. I really do appreciate you guys feedback..

This is not Thorne's work imho. The rendering of the shadows/the inside of her cape is much too visible and laboured upon, certainly not spontaneous enough to have been drawn by a pro-artist, especially a genius like Thorne.

Hi, Thank you for your interest in commenting on this. As I told Lee and PatrickO also, Thank you so much for clearing up what this art is . I don't have any actual Thorne art myself, so nice to get all this feedback. Thanks again, Rob
