DescriptionSo, with this acquisition, I may hang my hat up (well for a little while). Why? All for nostalgia. This is a cover that I never thought I would actually see for sale, in part because it's British and there are die hard Plant of the Apes collectors. It is the cover to the first comic I ever got. My Mom bought it for me off the rack at a WH Smith in England when we lived there in the 70's. Unlike US versions, the UK versions were Magazine sized and B&W ... so all the stories that were shrunk down and in color in the US were large (more detail) and B&W in these. I think it is what cemented my love for the B&W versions of comics. Very excited to have this.Social/Sharing |

Very timely with the movie coming out! It's about time a new cycle of films come out reviving this franchise that holds up a mirror to human society. This is great artwork from Marcos to have every bit of the drama the US books had.

It's a fantastic example to boot! It even looks like someone other than Marcos inked the head, as the tool used appears different and so do the lines compared to everything else on the cover. Looks great! Congrats on landing this one, Heidjer. The only question is: Does this now become your Holy Grail?

Surprsingly enough, no. The Sandman page is still my grail. It is in my Top 5 though.
