My wife and I went to the Baltimore Comic Con a bunch of years back, and I had the opportunity to meet Michael Kaluta and be a bit of a fanboy. He had the time (amazingly in my book) to do a convention sketch. I have always loved his mystery/horror work and was in a "Spectre phase, so I asked him to do Spectre and Madame Xanadu ... and one bat. He asked why only one bat? As it happened, on the way to the convention center, we had parked on the lower levels of one of the parking structures and a bat came down and started flapping around our heads as we were trying to get out ... so why not add him.
