DescriptionAstro City started with several one-shot stories before embarking upon a mini-series in issues #4-9 of its second volume. The topic: Batman, or rather his Astro-analogue The Confessor, a figure of the night, skulking amongst the stone gargoyles adorning Grandenetti Cathedral. As he often did, Kurt Busiek told this tale from the perspective of a non-powered newcomer, in this case Confessor's new protégé Choir Boy. On this page, as the Crossbreed whisk Choir Boy to safety through the sewers, he thinks back on the sacrificial death of his mentor Confessor just moments before. How to best honor his memory? Anderson uses dramatic lighting effects recalling his own mentor, Neal Adams. Social/Sharing |
