Simple. A Story we wouldn't see created today.

Joe Edwards and Rudy Lapick Little Archie Digest Magazine #7 Story Page 4 Original Art (Archie Comics, 1992). The little-kids version of Archie sends Archie Andrews and Jughead Jones into the woods to live like Indians. Clever variations on familiar themes. Ink over graphite on Bristol board. Image area, 10" x 15". Excellent condition.

While Heritage had these two as the artists. It might have been Rudy alone. Still learning.

JOE EDWARDS
Joe Edwards (December 6, 1921 – February 8, 2007) was an American comic book artist best known for creating Archie Comics' mischievous little-girl character Li'l Jinx while working in the industry for over 65 years. With the publication of the teen-humor title Archie Comics #1 that same year, Edwards would go on to illustrate many adventures of the popular Riverdale high-schoolers Archie, Jughead, Betty and Veronica, as well, working on them as recently as the 1980s.

These were made for universal appeal and probably reached a larger audience that we'll ever know with having a different distribution model and parents buying them for kids in grocery and retail stores.
