The lighting is so dramatic! She's lit like a goddess on a hill ready to strike down anyone approaching to mar her perfection.

Totally agree with you. At first I was a bit irritated by her facial expression, but in the meantime I find that it perfectly fits the scenery and the orgasmic, intoxicating state that a female warrior like Red Sonja is possibly put into during such a slaughter.

Exactly! And that feeling of sensual pleasure in killing is accentuated by her provocative half-naked body. Gorgeous painting by the Spanish master!
