DescriptionExcalibur (volume 4) was relaunched as a part of Dawn of X in October 2019. The initial roster comprised Betsy Braddock as the new Captain Britain, Gambit, Rogue, Jubilee, Rictor and Apocalypse. This issue apparently is the end of the second story arc in the series and (frankly) I have no idea what is going on beyond the fact the team is hunting warwolves. To be honest though, that’s because I haven’t read an Excalibur book since volume 1 circa issue 65. So why do I have these?Continuing my current string of affordable and fun modern X-title purchases, I bid on pages 11 and 12 for two reasons – Rogue and Jubilee. My 90s nostalgia for the characters made these enjoyable squirrels to chase. And at this point in my collecting I’m satisfied with chasing some squirrels and leaving the big game for those with bigger war chests. Meanwhile, I have a couple of volumes of Excalibur to catch up on via my Marvel app (once I’m done catching up with the New Mutants). As a footnote, after picking these up a couple weeks back I then paid off my car shop tab. A string of repairs has sapped my art budget, so if everyone could do me a favor and NOT sell any art I might be interested in for a couple of months that would be appreciated. I knew I could count on you OA friends to oblige. Ha! Happy hunting all. (Poggi inks over Santos blue lines) Social/Sharing |

This and the previous page are excellent examples and proof positive that nostalgia ISN'T only derived from the exact images we saw as kids. As long as the images remind us of earlier memories, the ones in contemporary books can equally bring about those nostalgic feelings. What's more, they're fun and affordable!

Definitely one of the more interesting X-books from the Hickman/post-Hickman era. Really nice art!

Warwolves can hurt you
It cuts you deep Excalibur
Things fall apart, but nothing breaks like a car
And nothing breaks like a car
I heard Wilton had drawn last night
We live and die by Poggi lines
You know it, oh, we both know it
These never use the silhouettes
This Hickman house, there's something X
It's smoking, we know Gambit
We got ink lines to fall in love
But just like that car falls apart
It's broken, It's mutants
Hmm, well nothing, nothing, nothing gon' save us now
